Joseph Garcia President, National Congress of American Indians, and Chairman, All Indian Pueblo Council

Description
Joseph Garcia is a visionary Native American. He is President of the National Congress of American Indians (AIPC) representing 275 tribal governments and hundreds of thousands of Indian people, and Chairman of the All Indian Pueblo Council (AIPC) of New Mexico. Educational and economic strides are beginning to close the gap between Native people and their non-native neighbors, and Chairman Garcia believes that much more can be accomplished with the ?many tribes, one voice? approach. He is committed to creating collaborations that will preserve the cultural traditions of Indian Nations while respecting and protecting their future. He has a plan that will utilize innovative ideas consistent with the principles of self-determination and respect for tribal sovereignty as a foundation for creating diverse and sustainable economic development in Indian Country.
