Description
Mutual funds that characterize themselves as ?socially responsible? often identify a list of criteria that factor into their screening process: environmental, military, etc.
How do the resulting portfolios compare to each other, and to an unscreened portfolio? Are some SRI funds more screened in a particular social or environmental concern than others? Is there an objective measure by which portfolios can be compared, and if so, can position weights also be taken into account?
This presentation will look at the results of just such an objective analysis, in which the portfolios of twelve socially responsible mutual funds and the Vanguard 500 Index Fund have been examined according to both a comprehensive set of screens and six single-issue screens: environmental, military, diversity, human rights, sexual orientation, and labor. IW Financial was used for research and scoring.
