Life is tough. It kills us all. As clients age, the financial planning process can become more complex. As clients' parents age, caring for them often becomes an important part of the family financial picture. In fact, most financial plans never even consider elder care or end-of-life details. This session will provide basic information and advice around engaging clients in conversation about elder care planning and end-of-life issues. It's designed to be highly interactive?we will learn from each other's experiences.
Speaker Biographies
Steve Schueth is President of First Affirmative Financial Network, an independent Registered Investment Advisor that specializes in serving socially conscious investors. For nearly 20 years, Mr. Schueth has been a nationally recognized authority, consultant, and resource to the sustainable and responsible investment industry. He served as a Director of the Social Investment Forum from1992 to 2002. He was with Calvert from 1989 to 1997 where he led a product development group that created the first global socially screened mutual fund in the U.S. and was involved in launching four other new funds designed for socially conscious investors. As President of Calvert Distributors from 1994 to 1997, he ran Calvert?s sales organization and was responsible for the company?s relationships with over 2,000 broker-dealer firms. Mr. Schueth was born and raised in Iowa where he began working in his father?s hardware store at a very early age. His professional background also includes five years as a real estate broker, four years as Vice President of a real estate securities company, and three years as Director of Development for The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
